Creating Network Marketing Momentum - How To Maximize Events

Posted on April 12, 2008 - Filed Under Home Based Business |

There are many ways to create momentum in your Network Marketing business. The big MLM success stories you hear are direct results of leaders who understand the importance of momentum in a home-based business. This article will focus on one of the most powerful momentum generating secrets, maximization of events. You will discover how to make the most out of every single event, large or small, that will result in unstoppable momentum.

Many of you may be wondering, “What is an event and what does it do for my business?” Not all events are created equal. Events can include conference calls, home parties, business presentation at a home or hotel, Saturday trainings, corporate conventions, training seminars, tele-classes, online trainings, product demonstration parties, etc… Let’s explore what you can expect out of each of these events and how you can get the most out of them.

First of all, events can be used to expose prospects to your company or a training system. For example, when we have a prospect that needs to “think about it” and we determine that they really need more info and they’re not just blowing us off. I would train my team to promote the next event as the way to get more info instead of trying to handle their objections and close them right then. This expose, involve and upgrade system is a fantastic fallback plan or safety net for new reps to move prospects through your enrolling process as they are developing their objection handling and closing skills. The end result of using events as exposure is that prospects upgrade themselves to the next level of your compensation plan.

Events can also be used to build relationships with your team. This is huge key to building a solid business and creating momentum! This is your chance to see, touch, feel and understand what’s important to your reps. The friendships you develop at events are crucial to sustaining a solid relationship that is essential for long term momentum. People desperately want to be a part of a winning team where they feel special and appreciated. This can be done at weekly business presentations, Saturday trainings and most effectively at weekend training seminars like First Steps to Success.

Events will help you bond with your older reps, creating the loyalty you need for long term momentum. A great example of this is scheduling a team meeting in your hotel room before your corporate convention starts where you equip them on how to maximize the event. You are now like the coach going over the plays before the game starts.

Events will help your team increase their skill level and belief, which are critical elements in creating momentum. Corporate events are best for building belief in the company’s products/services and the executive staff. These company specific events also provide reps with the vision, which is also a key component for momentum. Training seminars also build belief and more importantly your skill set.

Ask yourself this question, “What is the quickest way to get the most out of an event?” So many people miss this. Whether the event is a conference call, business presentation, product demonstration party, training seminar or corporate event, you must edify the speaker at that event so that your attendees respect them and want to hang on every word they say. If you are brand new, this is the best way to keep the focus off of what you don’t know and on what will help your prospects move forward.

Edification simply means building respect towards another person by talking about their achievements, credentials, experience and anything else that would make your prospect or rep feel like an idiot if they don’t pay attention to that person. Edification can be successfully done with CEOs as well as brand new people. Master this and momentum comes quickly.

Now that you have an understanding of what events are and how they are a vital part of creating momentum, you just need to constantly be promoting the next event. Your momentum will be visibly evident by the number of new people you have at each event. So, get out there and fill all events with your people and watch momentum take off!
