How To Choose Affiliate Programs That Fit Your Needs

You have problems deciding which affiliate programs to promote?

Here’s a checklist you can use to choose affiliate programs:

1. Is it free to join?

Most of the affiliate programs are free and I don’t see any reason why you should pay a cent for joining! After all you will probably spend some money promoting your affiliate links!

2. When do they pay you?

Two weeks? Once a month? Quarterly? If you need money fast, it’s a no-brainer to choose a program that sends you a check every two weeks!

3. Pay per sale, pay per referral or pay per click?

I’d stay with Pay per sale and Pay per referral because they are most common and most profitable.

6. Single tier, or multi tier program?

Single tier program pays you only for a sale. Multi tier pays you for a sale and you also earn a commission on sales made by people you have referred to the program.

4. Your commission?

If you promote a product that sells for $10 gives and you get 10% of the sale, forget it! Instead, You want to find products that sell for $97 and you get 50% of the sale!
Remember, you most likely have to promote the product and spend money doing that. If you spend $10 to advertise a product and make a $5 profit, it doesn’t make any sense!

5. Conversion rate.

This is what you should look at very carefully. Conversion rate is average amount of visitors you send to website you are promoting to make a sale. So, if conversion rate is 3%, it “should” mean that 3 out of 100 people end up buying the product. Here comes the warning: these are only statistics and you shouldn’t blindly rely that you will automatically make 3 sales out of hundred. (I’ve had some “high conversion” products that haven’t actually made any sales!)
