Network Marketing 102 - On The Job Experiences Written By A Newbie
Posted on March 13, 2008 - Filed Under Home Based Business |
This article is intended to speak to the average working men and women who are trying to sort thru the hundreds, if not thousands of internet network marketing sites and offers.
So let’s pick up where 101 left off. As you are sorting thru the myriad of network marketing offers on the web trying to determine what is real and what fits for you, you’re seeing all types. No room here to even mention a fraction of them, suffice it to say your ‘business evaluation’ skills are being tested! Having fun yet?
Let’s talk expectations…yours. By now you have been promised the moon & 10K within your first month, which is quite possible (minus the moon…) with many business models. Possible yes, but for the novice focusing on that possibility is akin to thinking you can outsmart Vegas. From talking to many experienced network marketers, it’s clear the odds are not stacked in your favor to be able to open up shop and cash in to that degree within 30 days. Not impossible, but just not very likely. Chew on this for a minute…if you were opening up a brick and mortar storefront would you have those same expectations? I cannot stress this more clearly.
Can anyone explain to me then why statistically most network marketing business models think that intelligent people will fall for this thinking? Answer-because many intelligent people check that intelligence at the door when considering this industry, and buy into that self-destructive type of thinking. It sets the table for you quitting when it doesn’t happen…when you don’t make that overnight killing! Now if this were in the brick and mortar world you’d never have had those expectations in the first place would you?
I’m not telling you to not dream…far from it. This is about being smart right from the start. Think logical even if it isn’t your ‘thing’ to do so. If you hit it out of the park within 30 days or some unlikely short period of time then high fives all around. Just DO NOT start with that expectation. Most people that post those types of quick results don’t tell the entire story…a combination of previous experience in network marketing, coupled with a lot of good fortune is what usually leads to that kind of explosive start.
Here is an alternative way to look at it. Network marketing can and will get you to your lofty goals much quicker than most any 9-5 career because of the leveraging component. However it still requires you to pay your dues and do the necessary day-to-day work. Even when you don’t feel like it. Sound like your 9-5? There’s just far less total work needed, providing you approach your new business with logical expectations. That work will actuate the leveraging component-something most careers can’t even begin to offer.
I appreciate your audience, and I will end this the same way 101 ended. If you are curious about my business model, feel free to explore the link below. And when exploring that site if you feel that it would be nice to talk to a real person, feel free to email or call. I’m a real person! You deserve real answers…
