So You Want To Work From Home - What Do You Need To Know?
Posted on February 27, 2008 - Filed Under Home Based Business |
So you want to work at home what do you need to know about home based businesses before you start? Here are several helpful hints to get you going in the right direction.
First, why do you want to be a home based business? Did you know there is a huge difference in a home based business and a traditional “JOB“? The JOB is where you work for someone else to make that someone else money. The minimum wage that you are paid, or maybe just above that is what you are worth? I don’t think so I believe we are all created with the ability to determine our own value, so determine why you are going to do this endeavor.
Second, you need to decide what field you are looking to work in. In order to be successful in any business market, you have to believe in the product or service you are going to market. I am passionate about the lack of quality healthcare for 70% of our nation, so I found a company that deals with that problem.
Third, how much time are you going to have to invest in this business? Break it down into weekly amounts, some businesses can prosper with as little as 8-10 hours a week, are you going to work say 10 hours a week, and break it up into 5 days? Then of course you need to work 2 hours a day.
Fourth, how much capitol do you have to get this business up and running, it doesn’t have to be a huge investment, but I truthfully do not know of any business out there that you can get up and into profit mode without at least a minimal investment.
So on recap, we need to know why we want to do this, what are you looking to do, how much time you have to invest, and how much money you can afford to start up this business of yours.
Be sure you do due diligence and check out the company’s track record. Is there ample training available? What kind of support system is in place? What kind of compensation plan is there and how often do you get paid. Is it a residual income or strictly one time commission?
Ok all of your questions have been answered and all of your homework is done, that should be the point where you find that perfect position that will get you the personal and financial freedom that was my “why” for starting. I hope this has helped and happy hunting!
