Vivid Goal Making For You And Your Team

Posted on March 3, 2008 - Filed Under Health and Fitness, Home Based Business |

In the world of network marketing, the need for 4 dimensional, descriptive goals is an absolute necessity.

Everyone has generalized goals, money, home, car, new clothes, to help people. Okay get the idea? What you need to do is to take those goals and expand on them one at a time.

Think big! What kind of car are you going to get? What color is it inside and out, what does it feel like to sit inside it, what does it smell like. My dream car is a Lincoln Navigator, I wanted to be able to close my eyes and smell the interior of that vehicle. I went to a dealer and sat in that beauty (black inside and out). I sat in the driver’s seat, put my head back and closed my eyes. I can sit at my desk now and close my eyes and I smell that Navigator!

One more example. What kind of house are you going to have, where is it located. Does it have siding or brick? How many bedrooms are there, are they all on one floor or are there 2 or 3 levels? How are they decorated? Does the kitchen have an island, are the countertops granite?

Some people call this dreaming and unrealistic, I call it smart. I tell my team my goals, my short term goals as well as my long term goals, and then I let them know that I expect them to in turn send me a copy of their goals.

Start with a week, a month, 90 days and whenever the going gets rough, I send them a copy of their goals with the question attached…..”Do you remember writing this, have your goals changed?” Can you still see the mountains in your back yard from the house you are building?

We all need goals and sometimes someone to be accountable to. It doesn’t matter if it’s your enroller, your best friend, your family. Someone who knows your “why” so that you can stay focused.

Put the goals in places where you will see it on a daily basis at least daily. On the bathroom mirror, on the visor of your car, on the refrigerator door.

When you begin a relationship with a new business partner in this way, not only will it help you to help them, but it gives them a very strong foundation on which they build their team.
